MembershipCommittee
The Membership Committee is established to advance the strength and continuity of the Association by actively promoting its mission, recruiting prospective members, and fostering the continued engagement and retention of current members.
Legislative Committee
The purpose of the Legislative Committee is to advance the Association’s mission by monitoring, evaluating, and supporting legislation that promotes fire safety within the State of Missouri. The committee works to strengthen statewide codes and standards, advocate for policies that reduce fire-related risks, and provide informed guidance on legislative matters that affect inspection, investigation, public education, and overall community safety.
Training Committee
The purpose of the Training Committee is to support and administer statewide training and certification programs authorized by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety. The committee is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of Fire Inspector I and Fire Inspector II certification courses, and may carry out duties such as coordinating course schedules and registrations, assigning qualified instructors and evaluators in accordance with established state guidelines, facilitating course delivery across Missouri, managing student records, and providing subject-matter expertise for curriculum review and updates to testing instruments in alignment with current standards.
Bylaws Committee
The purpose of the Bylaws Committee is to conduct regular and thorough reviews of the Association’s constitution and bylaws, ensuring they remain current, relevant, and aligned with the organization’s mission. The committee is responsible for identifying and recommending any additions, deletions, or revisions that should be presented to the membership for consideration.
Financial Review Committee
The purpose of the Finance Review Committee is to perform an annual, independent review of all Association financial accounts to verify the accuracy of assets, liabilities, and overall fiscal practices. The committee prepares a formal report of its findings and presents it to the membership at the annual business meeting, ensuring transparency and responsible stewardship of the Association’s resources.
Election Committee
The purpose of the Election Committee is to ensure the fair, orderly, and impartial administration of all Association elections and voting processes. The committee oversees nominations for elected offices, conducts elections, and manages the counting and verification of ballots for both officer and Board of Directors positions, as well as proposed amendments to the Association’s constitution and bylaws.
Education Committee
The purpose of the Education Committee is to guide, coordinate, and support all Association-sponsored training and educational programs outside the Fire Inspector I and Fire Inspector II certification courses. The committee ensures that high-quality instructional opportunities are developed, scheduled, and delivered in a manner that advances professional competency, supports member development, and upholds the educational mission of the Association.
